Perform a variety of tool and gage making functions to support various machine equipment within the business unit and other areas of the facility including, but not limited to: Read and work from blueprints, sketches, drawings and piece samples, layout materials for the purpose of machining and/or inspection; process basic machining skills to conduct alterations and necessary repairs on tools, gages and fixtures; perform set-ups in a safe manner and with proficiency; assure all material and gaging at the standard work group are calibrated and in top working condition; complex gages and fixtures are calibrated and/or fabricated to specifications with minimal assistance; fabricate and calibrate I.D./O.D. gages for inspection of diameters, compute compound angles accurately and with proficiency; Quality Integrity-Accept responsibility for gages and fixtures to be within specifications; SAP transacations are executed thoroughly and accurately, tools are properly identified with all information including tool number, equipment number and weight; follow general rules that apply to the tool room such as: Machine sign-in procedures, daily write-up procedures, clean-up and maintenance of equipment, clocking procedures, sign-out tooling for inventory management and vacation scheduling, Safety-follow EHS guidelines and procedures, wear proper P.P.E., follow Job Safety Analysis work sheets; ACE work to all ACE initiatives following guidelines and contribute to continuous improvement of all work related functions.
Experience/Qualifications Must understand the use and care of machinery, basic hand tools and precision measuring equipment; have basic knowledge of silver soldering and soft soldering and a basic understanding of the application of welding, have basic knowledge of heat treat processes; must be able to speak, read, write and understand English; have good computer skills; must be flexible around shifts for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime; and must be able to manage multiple competing priorities simultaaneously.
Also must have one or more of the following
Qualifications: be a graduate of a two-year, post high school, trade school tool and gage making program, served an apprenticeship in tool and gage making, or have a minimum of three years of experience as a tool and gage maker or a tool and gage inspector.
Education High School or General Equivalency Diploma.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of advanced Shop Math, Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
